Position: Senior Associate
Department: Capital Markets & Investment Operations
Status: Full-Time / Exempt
Reports To: Managing Director, Capital Markets
Job Description:
The Senior Associate plays a key role in management of mortgage and real estate investment portfolios. This position bridges strategic decision-making and execution, supporting senior leadership in evaluating and executing portfolio assets sales, optimizing capital management and financing structures, including management of securitization transactions. The ideal candidate combines strong financial and data analytical skills with a broad understanding of residential mortgage and real estate markets and financing structures.
Responsibilities:
· Deal Execution:
o Support multi-Fund strategic assets sales and financing transactions (repo and securitization)
o Build data tapes, prepare diligence materials, and manage transactions through closing
o Prepare deal result analytics and reports as requested
· Portfolio Management:
o Prepare weekly and monthly investor and internal portfolio management reports
o Prepare and manage reports to monitor liquidity requirements and capital forecasts
o Work with key internal stakeholders, including Accounting and IT, to support process and reporting enhancements
o Create ad hoc queries, analyses, and reports for investors and internal managers as required
· Collaboration and Leadership:
o Work cross-functionally with acquisitions, asset management, finance, and IT teams
o Improve internal processes, analytics, and reporting tools
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, data science or related technical degree (MBA, MFE, or CFA preferred)
· Exceptional MS Excel skills required (SQL/VBA capability preferred)
· 4+ years of experience in banking, private equity, lending, or investment management preferred
· Specific knowledge of mortgage loans and residential mortgage-backed securities is highly preferred
· Familiarity with data visualization tools and working with large sets of data is desirable
· Qualified candidate must demonstrate a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills, be a self-starter committed to quality and process improvement and have strong communication skills
