About the Role:
An established litigation firm is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney to join its Employment Law Practice in San Francisco. This role is ideal for an experienced employment litigator seeking meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, and hands-on involvement in complex employment matters, including wage and hour disputes, PAGA actions, workplace investigations, and strategic counseling. Attorneys in this practice work closely with experienced litigators while maintaining substantial autonomy in managing cases and shaping litigation strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead employment litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Handle single-plaintiff employment disputes as well as complex wage and hour class and representative actions.
- Advise employers and employees on workplace compliance, investigations, discipline, terminations, and separation-related matters.
- Draft, argue, and oppose dispositive motions and other substantive pleadings.
- Oversee all phases of discovery, including written discovery, document review, and strategy.
- Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
- Appear at hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and other proceedings.
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, government agencies, and courts.
- Provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance in complex employment matters.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of litigation experience in state and/or federal court.
- Significant experience handling employment law matters.
- Strong background in motion practice, depositions, and discovery management.
- Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Solid understanding of California employment law and civil procedure.
- Ability to independently manage cases while balancing multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
- Active California Bar membership or ability to obtain admission promptly.
