You will:

  • Become a trusted advisor working together with our clients, from data owners and analytic users to C-level executives on how to best solve their application needs
  • Develop, test, and maintain web applications using React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Collaborate with the design and product teams to implement user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces
  • Developed and maintained RESTful APIs and backend systems, including CRUD applications and integrations with external APIs
  • Optimize applications for speed and scalability
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues to improve application performance and user experience
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in web development.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to development standards
  • Contribute to the development of technical documentation and user guides

As a Senior Applications Engineer, you will be expected to work independently on client engagements or to collaborate with a small team on project delivery, take part in the development of our practice, aid in business development, and contribute innovative ideas and initiatives to our company.

  • Degree educated in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with managing stakeholders and collaborating with customers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • 4+ years working with application development; both frontend and backend
  • Proven experience as a Web Developer, Applications Engineer, Software Engineer or similar role
  • Proficiency in React. Experience with other frameworks is beneficial (e.g. Angular, Svelte)
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
  • Proficiency in one or more backend languages (preferable one of Python, Java, C# or Golang) and an ability to pick up new languages, tools and frameworks. Familiarity with developing RESTful APIs
  • Proficiency with data app frameworks like Streamlit.
  • Preferred proficiency in SQL and working with relational database systems (e.g. Postgres, MySQL)
  • Experience with modern data platforms a plus (preferably Databricks or Snowflake)
  • Knowledge of web development security practices
  • Understanding version control systems
  • Experience with CI/CD (e.g. GitHub Actions), testing frameworks and production release processes
  • Experience with code instrumentation, monitoring and observability systems preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage an individual workstream independently and ability to manage a small 1–2-person team
  • Expertise in software engineering concepts and best practices
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Codex, Claude Code) as part of a development workflow is required
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) preferred
  • Consulting experience required.
