Applications Development Team Lead
A confidential organization is seeking an Applications Development Team Lead to lead enterprise application development efforts while remaining hands-on in technical delivery. This is a hybrid leadership role for a developer-leader who can guide a team, support business-critical systems, and contribute directly to application design, development, and production support.
This opportunity is based in Jacksonville, Florida, with a hybrid work model and a standard
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule. The role also includes on-call rotation and occasional after-hours or weekend support as needed.
Compensation:
$100,000 to $130,000 base salary
What You Will Do:
- Lead a team of developers through the full software development lifecycle for enterprise applications
- Provide day-to-day technical leadership, coaching, and direction to software engineers
- Contribute hands-on to development, enhancement, troubleshooting, and production support
- Help deliver secure, stable, and maintainable solutions that meet business needs
- Monitor productivity, priorities, and timelines to keep work moving effectively
- Partner with internal stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Support team performance through feedback, goal setting, and ongoing development
- Drive process improvement initiatives and evaluate new technologies for practical use
- Participate in software change approvals, deployments, and issue resolution
- Coordinate team schedules, time-off requests, and support coverage
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience leading teams that support enterprise applications
- 3+ years of applications development experience
- Recent senior-level experience leading custom software development and support efforts
- Experience working in Agile, Kanban, or hybrid delivery environments
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to assess technical options and explain tradeoffs clearly
- Ability to lead a team while remaining involved in hands-on execution
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with AI, machine learning, or MLOps
- Experience with IBM i systems
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, .NET, C#, or Java
- Experience with RPG development and DB2
- Background supporting large, multi-platform enterprise systems
