Position Overview:

This Senior Analyst, Retirement position is based in Boston and reports to the Director of Cerulli’s Retirement practice. The practice focuses on trends related to the defined contribution market, including:

  • Trends in the defined contribution markets related to product development and distribution, as well as the needs and perceptions of key stakeholders (e.g., employers, advisors, product & service providers)
  • Asset management offerings designed for defined contribution plans, including target-date funds, managed accounts, retirement income products, and the inclusion of private market assets in DC plans
  • The retirement plan products and services offered by defined contribution recordkeepers to support employers and retirement plan participants
  • Engagement with retirement plan participants through advice, guidance, and education offerings
  • Strategies in the recordkeeper market, including participant engagement and service offerings
  • The needs, expectations, and perceptions of defined contribution plan consultants, advisors, and their home offices

Responsibilities and Duties:

Research and analysis

  • Contribute to research reports and quarterly Edge by generating research ideas, integrating findings from quantitative and qualitative research, and authoring content
  • Conceive, design, and execute quantitative surveys, including questionnaire development, sampling strategy, and analysis
  • Construct, maintain, and improve Cerulli’s defined contribution market sizing models
  • Conduct ongoing qualitative research related to report themes through research calls and monitoring developments in the industry


Project Management

  • Manage the development of reports and Edge editions to meet publication deadlines


Client and Industry Engagement

  • Present research findings to clients and through webinars
  • Support Cerulli’s strategic consulting and custom research
  • Assist account managers with client inquiries related to the practice’s research content
  • Manage partnerships with and participate in industry trade associations and publications to raise awareness of Cerulli’s research


Qualifications:

Your Experience

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in market research, data analytics, or competitive intelligence, preferably related to financial services or the retirement industry
  • Aptitude for synthesizing research, identifying trends, and providing commentary on relevant industry issues
  • Experience and comfort with presenting to senior executives
  • College degree; completion of, or progress toward, advanced designations, such as CIMA® or CFA®, is a plus


Your Skills

  • Proficient in Excel; able to compile, manipulate, and analyze large data sets
  • Experience with data analytics programming languages, including Alteryx, is a plus
  • Ability to integrate quantitative and qualitative data into insights and perspectives
  • Ability to work on many initiatives concurrently and meet deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate with practice leads and junior team members
  • Ability to cultivate a network of industry contacts for research purposes


Your Knowledge

  • Seeks to build deep industry expertise and willingness to learn new topics
  • Knowledge of financial services, asset management, or wealth management
  • Knowledge of defined contribution plans, investments, and/or distribution is a plus


Compensation:

$95,000 - $115,000
