This position would be focused on an investment mandate in the Caribbean, pursuing growth stage investments in leading companies across the region. The ideal candidate has professional-level fluency in Spanish and would either be based in or willing to relocate to Puerto Rico.


The Senior Analyst/Associate is a core member of the investment team, working alongside senior deal team members across all stages of the deal lifecycle, as well as supporting team members across other core initiatives. Specific responsibilities include:


- Actively support senior team members in the review and execution of investment opportunities. The candidate would:

  • Identify and analyze potential investment opportunities: assist in the development of market maps, maintain internal databases, and coordinate proactive outreach to advisors, business owners, and other investors active in the region;
  • Build and maintain complex financial models to evaluate potential investment returns for transactions under consideration;
  • Assist in the preparation of materials for Investment Committee review, ranging from initial investment screens to detailed investment memoranda;
  • Assist in the coordination of internal and external workstreams on financial/tax, legal, and commercial due diligence;
  • Coordinate and prepare transaction documentation;
  • Post-investment, actively track and monitor portfolio company metrics and financial performance.


- Support senior team members in the firm’s marketing initiatives. The candidate would:

  • Update and maintain investor presentation materials;
  • Update and maintain fund-level investment models;
  • Support research into new product development; and
  • Assist in the preparation of requests for proposals and ad hoc investor requests.


- Actively support the firm’s ESG and Impact investing initiatives. The candidate would:

  • Assist in developing appropriate ESG and Impact processes;
  • Update and maintain necessary databases; and
  • Prepare materials and reports as necessary.


- Actively participate and support the CFO and the investment team in the portfolio monitoring and reporting process. The candidate would:

  • Lead the quarterly valuation process; and
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports to investors.


Qualifications

  • An ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in private equity or venture capital, otherwise investment banking, consulting, or due diligence transaction services
  • Detail oriented, strong organizational skills
  • An inquiring mind, good discipline, and attention to detail
  • Strong project management and execution skills—an ability to meet challenging deadlines while maintaining a high degree of quality and accuracy
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Experience in financial modeling
  • Demonstrated experience in financial statement analysis and valuation techniques
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a time critical, transaction-oriented environment
  • Willingness to travel overseas, with travel throughout the Caribbean a core responsibility
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required (written and verbal)
