Senior Accountant - Nonprofit or higher education experience required!

Senior Accountant - Up to $100k

Our client, a well-established higher education organization, is looking to hire Senior Accountant to join a growing finance team during a period of positive change. These roles report directly to the Controller and offer excellent work-life balance, stability, and long-term benefits. ***4 days onsite, 1 day remote with Summer Fridays

Key Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Maintain general ledger accounts across AP, AR, payroll, and cash
• Prepare monthly and year-end financial reports and workpapers
• Support annual audit and budget preparation
• Assist with cash reconciliations, drawdowns, and transfers
• Serve as backup to Accounts Payable as needed
• Partner closely with the Controller on ongoing process improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong month-end close and reconciliation experience
• Higher education experience preferred but not required
• Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge is a strong plus
