Senior Accountant | Financial Reporting | Month-End Close | GAAP
A client of Aspire Staffing is seeking a Senior Accountant to support a growing, multi-location organization within the construction and heavy equipment industry. This role offers strong visibility, cross-functional collaboration, and the opportunity to influence financial accuracy, internal controls, and accounting process improvements.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with experience in month-end close, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and US GAAP compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and estimates
- Prepare and review financial statements and internal reports in compliance with US GAAP
- Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods
- Maintain strong internal controls and support audit (internal and external) activities
- Partner with operations and finance leadership to provide actionable financial insights
- Drive accounting process improvements and participate in special projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience (Senior Accountant, Staff Accountant II, or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and reconciliations
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups); ERP system experience preferred
- Background in manufacturing, distribution, construction, or industrial environments a plus
