Duration: 26 weeks
Expected Shift: 40 hrs/week
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

POSITION OVERVIEW
-We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant III (CPA) with strong hands-on accounting experience and deep expertise in Workday Financials. This role requires an individual who can actively own accounting processes, support month-end close, and perform detailed reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.
-Candidates must be comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate financial concepts to leadership.
-Candidates must be comfortable completing accounting and Workday-based assessments as part of the interview process.
INTERVIEW PROCESS:
Initial interview with Manager & Director (Teams or on-site)
Final interview with CFO
Potential final “meet the team” interview

EDUCATION/LICENSURE/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
CPA REQUIRED
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting + 4 years of hands-on Staff Accounting experience
OR
Master’s Degree in Finance or Accounting + 2 years of hands-on Staff Accounting experience
*Experience must include direct ownership of month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting within a similarly sized organization.*
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
Strong hands-on bookkeeping and full-cycle accounting experience
Deep, hands-on experience with Workday Financials, including active use in:
General Ledger
Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable
Cash Management
Fixed Assets
Financial Reporting
Proven ability to support and execute:
Month-end close
Balance sheet reconciliations
Financial reporting and analysis within Workday
Strong accounting fundamentals, including:
Accruals
Adjusting entries
Reconciliations
High attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, well-organized work
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely explain accounting processes and financial results to leadership
Ability to demonstrate hands-on ownership of accounting processes within Workday (not limited to system navigation or transactional tasks)
Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with an approachable communication style
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
Workday Accounts Payable experience
Workday Accounting Implementation experience
EPIC experience

JOB SUMMARY:
-Responsible for planning, coordinating, organizing, controlling, and the implementation of certain financial functions related to Benefis Health System and its entities. Research accounting rules and regulations and make recommendations regarding the appropriate treatment of accounting issues. The position has key responsibilities for the annual audit, annual budget, and required tax filings, and must have operational competency in all three areas. The position will perform a lead role on projects for which they have operating responsibility and will act as an internal consultant when appropriate. The position frequently reviews the work of other Accountants. The position requires maintenance of important key external relationships in order to function effectively. The position requires independent judgment and experience to accomplish goals.
-Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations. Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict.
-Will perform all job duties or job tasks as assigned. Will follow and adhere to all requirements, regulations and procedures of any licensing board or agency. Must comply with all Benefis Health system organization policies and procedures.
