Position Summary
We are partnering with a well-established residential real estate brokerage in the Denver market known for supporting agents with transaction coordination, marketing, and operational infrastructure. This organization facilitates high-volume real estate transactions and provides a collaborative platform for agents and clients across the region.
They are seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee full-cycle accounting operations while remaining hands-on in the day-to-day financial activities. This role offers a unique blend of financial oversight, operational accounting, and process improvement, with direct exposure to leadership and business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Own the full accounting cycle, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Deliver reporting, variance analysis, and budget-to-actual insights
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning
- Maintain fixed assets and assist with year-end close and external reporting
Operational Accounting
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including cash, bank activity, and account reconciliations
- Oversee transaction-level accounting, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation
- Track and reconcile revenue-related activity, adjustments, and reporting data
- Investigate discrepancies and ensure clean, audit-ready records
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Oversee full AP/AR cycle including invoicing, payments, collections, and reconciliations
- Maintain vendor and customer records and resolve billing issues
- Monitor cash flow and manage payment schedules
Payroll, Compliance & Controls
- Support payroll processing and related reporting
- Maintain compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
- Assist with tax reporting, audits, and year-end processes
- Ensure strong internal controls and documentation standards
Cash & Process Management
- Monitor cash flow, banking activity, and liquidity
- Support treasury functions including electronic payments and transfers
- Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies
- Assist with system optimization and workflow enhancements
Qualifications
Required
- 3–5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, GL accounting, AP/AR, and reconciliations
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience in a transaction-heavy or commission-based environment
- Familiarity with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar systems
- Exposure to audit support and year-end close processes
Compensation Range: $90k-$100k
