About the Role

The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing timely financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and ensuring strong internal controls. This role plays a key part in optimizing accounting operations, improving processes, and supporting the company’s financial integrity.


Responsibilities

  • Daily Bank Reconciliations — Perform daily bank reconciliations, prepare related journal entries, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Journal Entry Preparation — Prepare and review journal entries with accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Month‑End Close — Prepare and execute month‑end closing activities, including account reconciliations, accruals, amortizations, and financial reporting to ensure timely and accurate close cycles.
  • Positive Pay Oversight — Review and approve Check Positive Pay and ACH Positive Pay; initiate stop payments and internal transfers as needed.
  • Expense & Credit Card Review — Review and approve Expensify employee reimbursements and corporate credit card transactions daily; resolve discrepancies per company policy and prepare corresponding journal entries.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations — Review and reconcile key balance sheet accounts including Prepaids, Accrued Expenses, Tax Payables, Other Current Liabilities, Long‑Term Lease Liabilities, and Asset Retirement Obligations.
  • Financial Reporting — Prepare consolidated financial statements, bank reporting packages, and sales & use tax returns.
  • Audit Support — Prepare documentation and provide essential support for annual financial audits, bank audits, tax provisions, and tax return filings.
  • Property Tax Filings — Prepare and file multi‑state property tax returns.
  • 1099 Compliance — Prepare, file, and amend 1099‑NEC and 1099‑MISC forms.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis — Conduct research and prepare ad hoc financial reports as needed.
  • Recurring Schedules & Amortizations — Maintain and update recurring schedules including Prepaids, Accruals, ASC 842 Lease schedules, Business Insurance amortization, Line of Credit amortization, marketing accruals, and tax provision schedules.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.


Required Skills

  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.
  • Experience with ERP systems; SAP experience strongly preferred.
  • Highly detail‑oriented, organized, and able to learn quickly in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
