Senior Accountant - Construction

Position Overview

A leading national construction and development firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to support large-scale commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for managing project accounting functions for one or more major projects, partnering closely with project leadership and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, cost management, billing, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and process subcontract agreements, change orders, and performance/payment bonds to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
• Collect, review, and maintain subcontractor and supplier lien waivers.
• Review, process, and track monthly subcontractor and supplier invoices, ensuring costs are accurately recorded and allocated to the appropriate project phases and cost codes.
• Manage project accruals and support accurate monthly cost reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of construction accounting experience or related project accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of project cost accounting, billing, and financial reporting within the construction industry.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% to Dallas, TX.
