Senior Accountant

Ascendo Resources is currently seeking a Senior Accountant for a full-time, hybrid role.

Our client is a well-established nonprofit organization with 500+ employees, focused on delivering impactful community-based programs and services. The organization offers strong leadership, mission-driven work, and long-term stability.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. This position offers strong exposure to leadership and the opportunity to support audit preparation and multi-entity financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger accounting, including bank and account reconciliations
• Support month-end close, financial reporting, and variance analysis
• Assist with audit preparation and consolidation across multiple entities
• Manage AP/AR processes and ensure accuracy of financial data
• Partner with leadership on improving accounting processes and controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Strong GL experience (reconciliations, AP, AR, month-end)
• Nonprofit experience is a plus, but not required
• Detail-oriented with strong Excel skills

Work Schedule

• Hybrid schedule: 3–4 days onsite initially, then alternating 2–3 days onsite weekly
