Our client, a ~$50M Social Services Organization, is seeking a Sr. Accountant to join the GL Accounting Group to help lead GL posting, financial reporting, P&L reviews, financial analysis, closes, audits, and tax prep.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation of monthly management reports, including P&Ls, Budget vs. Actuals, variance analysis, and produce key financial statements for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the full accounting cycle by recording journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, performing trial balances, and reconciling subsidiary accounts to ensure data integrity.
  • Identify accounting errors and workflow bottlenecks to suggest process improvements, while maintaining detailed documentation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Supervise the month-end close process and leverage extensive federal and state fund accounting expertise to manage complex funding streams and ensure accurate accruals.
  • Lead the preparation for annual external audits and ensure timely completion of quarterly and annual statutory filings in strict accordance with regulatory guidance and internal policies.


Qualifications

  • BA of Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field; CPA or Higher Ed a Plus
  • 3+ years of Non-Profit Accounting experience
  • Government Grants / Contract Net Deficit Accounting experience
  • Experience with enterprise accounting software; I.E Netsuite, Sage Intacct, Financial Edge
