Position OverviewThe Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire a Security Officer for the Madden Mental Health Center located in Hines, Illinois to perform safety property and protection services involving patients, employees, visitors, and state property within the facility on an assigned shift. Assists other unit staff in restraining and controlling combative or acting out patients. Takes actions allowed to apprehend uncooperative and potentially combative patients within policies and procedures. Enforces traffic rules and regulation of the facility. Assists supervisor with gathering paperwork, collecting written statements from patients and staff, secures possible crime scenes and communicates with Law Enforcement and assists as directed. Prepares detailed reports as needed. Communicates with patients, staff and other members of the community.
Essential Functions*Qualifying state employees in the Upward Mobility Program shall have the stated requirements of this classification waived by successful completion of specific proficiency tests and training programs.
