The Section Manager, Indirect Professional Services is accountable for the leadership, strategic direction, and operational management of the Indirect Professional Services team within Supply Chain. This role oversees the endtoend sourcing and procurement of a broad portfolio of goods and services supporting Con Edison and Orange & Rocklands enterprise operations, including customer energy efficiency, engineering, enterprise technology and security, human resources, finance, facilities, and other critical corporate functions.
The Section Manager provides strategic, commercial, and administrative leadership to ensure procurement activities are executed in alignment with organizational objectives, regulatory requirements, and bestinclass supply chain practices. This includes driving value through effective sourcing strategies, supplier engagement, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role is also responsible for talent development, performance management, and building a highperforming, engaged team.
In addition, the Section Manager serves as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external governmental and regulatory agencies, responding to inquiries and providing subjectmatter expertise and support as required. The role contributes broadly to Supply Chain leadership priorities and crossfunctional initiatives.
Core Responsibilities- Responsible for managing the team and procurement activities of the Indirect Professional Services team in Supply Chain.
- Responsible for sourcing of goods and services for Con Edison and Orange & Rockland to maintain and develop its operations, including information technology, energy efficiency, human resources, finance, facilities, and other corporate services.
- Responsible for creating and sustaining an inclusive environment that promotes a speak up culture, individual/team development, and collaboration.
- Provide strategic, commercial and administrative guidance for the procurement of goods and services managed by the Indirect Professional Services team and be responsible for the development of team members.
- Provide strategic and administrative guidance on the Company's efforts within their span of control.
- Responsible for responding to inquiries from internal stakeholders and governmental agencies. Follows up on recommendations and implementation of solutions.
- Provide guidance in development of sourcing strategies and directs the preparation of bid invitations and other related purchasing documents, evaluates vendor proposals and bids and makes purchase recommendations and approves authorizations in accordance with the Delegation of Authority.
- Supervise the performance of commercial and economic evaluations of supplier bids and proposals.
- Develop personnel to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity by instructing, managing, counseling and initiating appropriate training. Reviews manpower requirements, establishes priorities and adjusts workload as required to utilize assigned employees.
- Be available to perform off-hour emergency Supply Chain team leader functions, some of which may require working extended or non-traditional hours.
