  • The Primary Care (PACT) Section Chief (Supervisory Podiatrist) in this position is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, implementing, controlling and refining a comprehensive patient management, clinical support and administrative program. S/he is accountable for adhering to established policies and standards of care/practice in evaluating, tracking and following up on patient care. S/he works in collaboration with health care professional to provide longitudinal case management of the Primary Care Physician's (PCP's) entire PACT panel with independent care delivery for acute/same day needs, or when requested by the PCP. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Providing independent care delivery for chronic, acute/same day medical needs. The type of care is served to the Veteran population, with diseases consistent with those seen in the general population namely diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, mental health disorders, etc. Responsibilities include writing orders for diagnostic testing, prescribing medications, consulting with specialty service, and utilizing computerized/electronic medical records, etc. Providing direct patient care to include: history and physicals medication management evaluation of diagnostic tests and treatment planning clinical reminder completion, as applicable Functioning as a leader in the PACT approach in the delivery of care, which emphasizes a team based approach to healthcare Overseeing PACTs compliance to Message Manager, MyHealtheVet, and encounter completion. Tele-Health to home visits (VA Video Connect), and Comprehensive Women's Health Care Documenting medical information in an electronic medical record Performing medication reconciliation Other duties as assigned Section Chief functions under the guidance Ambulatory Care's Associate Chief of Staff (ACOS). In addition to above responsibilities as PACT provider, Section Chief is also responsible for day-to-day oversight of primary care providers activities. S/he performs as as a leader, completing FPPE/OPPE, Proficiency, hiring process, etc. Section Chief collaborates with multiple Services such as Nursing, MAS and other ancillary leadership staff to function under an efficient and productive PACT model. Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not authorized Relocation Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): May be available for highly-qualified Candidates Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification) Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting Work Schedule: TBD (Typically - M-F, 0800-1630 with an occasional Saturday Clinic or a weekday extended hour clinic depending on organizational needs and/or requirements) Telework: Available on an Ad-hoc (as needed) basis Virtual: This is not a virtual position EDRP: Not authorized VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
