JOB TITLE: Seasonal Laborer - Streets
DEPARTMENT: Public Works
DIVISION: Streets
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISORS: Street Maintenance Manager
DIRECTION OF OTHERS: None
NATURE OF WORK: Assist with sign installation, painting of roadway markings and other tasks as assigned.WORK PERFORMED/AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
I.Assist with sign installation.
II.Assist with painting of crosswalks, railroad crossings and parking stalls.
III.Assist with sealcoating of city streets.
IV.Assist in forestry practices.
V.Assist mechanic shop.
VI.Report any vehicle or equipment damage to your supervisor.
VII.Report any personal injury or accident to your supervisor.
VIII.Answers questions of the general public when in the field, or directs public to the proper employee.
IX.Perform related work as assigned.EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum Qualifications: Be 18 years of age, minimum. Must hold a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in operating light equipment.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS:
I.Must posses a valid driver's license.
EQUIPMENT AND TOOL OPERATION:
I.Hand power and custodial tools and equipment.WORKING HOURS AND CONDITIONS:
Typically, 30 - 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Some weekend and overnight work may be required.

The employee frequently is required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. When training others in equipment operation the employee is frequently exposed to bouncing, jostling, twisting, and turning of the upper body. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally must lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
