The Opportunity:
Austin Motel is seeking an enthusiastic Seasonal Pool Attendant to join the team. A Pool Attendant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the property including the Pool, Courtyard, public areas, Back of House, and exterior public space. Pool Attendants are also responsible for the restock of public bathroom guest amenities, pool guest amenities, and must ensure a thorough inventory control of these products. The person in this position must have excellent communication skills, the ability to resolve conflict, and a thorough understanding of Bunkhouse policies. A Pool Attendant must develop and maintain the company’s culture, values and reputation in the public eye and with all staff, guests, vendors and partners.

Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for cleaning pool and pool deck as well as other public spaces
Continually maintain inventory of pool towels, and guest amenities to ensure adequate supplies in accordance with established par levels and timeframe
Open, secure, and balance out shift banks to include the verification of all cash, credit card and room charge transactions during all shifts
Maintain accuracy with all accounting and billing procedures
Sell Pool day-passes to non-Motel guests, and accurately check complimentary motel guest list
Assist in maintaining safe occupancy levels
Warmly greet all pool guests, accurately check in guest-list attendees
Maintain a positive relationship with employees and guests
Promote and encourage guest name recognition
Maintain knowledge of all guest services and amenities
Ensure all guest concerns are answered in a courteous, professional and efficient manner
Maintain constant communication between all departments
Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area
Responsible for completing shift checklist
Notify Manager and/or immediate supervisor about any public areas that need to be placed out of order for maintenance concerns
Report and correct any deficiencies noted in public areas to the appropriate individuals
Assist in the timely completion of all special projects, deep cleanings, etc.
Assist in implementation of special projects
Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and oral instructions
Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property
Keep abreast of safety and OSHA requirements
Be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures
Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.
Qualifications:
High school education preferable
One (1) year related experience in hospitality or service industry
Availability nights and weekends
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or guests
Ability to understand computer programs (i.e. Property Management System, Point of Sale)
Ability to apply concepts of math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and algebra, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
