Township of Lower Makefield 1100 Edgewood Road (267) 274 -1100 Yardley Pa 19067 Website: lmt.org JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: SEASONAL MOWER EMPLOYMENT: PART - TIME SEASONAL DEPARTMENT: PUBLIC WORKS Job Summary The seasonal mower position provides assistance to the Public Works Department during the months of April through October with mowing and maintenance of Township owned property. This role requires the ability to operate mowing equipment and other motor vehicles. This role may also be required to assist th e Department in other projects outside of lawn maintenance. Key Responsibilities • Laborer type activities such as lawn mowing, weed whacking, cleaning, trash collection, storm basin cleaning, painting, road repairs, loading and unloading of materials and tools from trucks • Operate motor vehicles, trucks, or motorized equipment for long periods of time • Work with moving machinery, slippery and/or uneven surfaces, hot surfaces, dusty conditions, and confined spaces • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds, push and pull up to 100 pounds • Hand shovel, sweeping, and raking at l5 -to-30-minute intervals for as long as eight hours • Stretch, crawl, climb, recline, balance, kneel, and perform fine manipulation occasionally • Other duties as assigned Qualifications • You must be at least 18 years of age due to the equipment you will be operating • You must have and maintain a current and valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License Working Conditions • Withstand prolonged exposure, as long as eight hours, to extreme weather conditions • Withstand exposure to high noise levels, vibration, and wet conditions occasionally Township of Lower Makefield 1100 Edgewood Road (267) 274 -1100 Yardley Pa 19067 Website: lmt.org • Withstand prolonged periods of standing and sittin g • Working well as a team or as an individual NOTICE - This is a part -time seasonal position and not to be mistaken for a part -time position. There is no guarantee of minimal working hours per week, but our intent is 40 hours per week. If the Department does not require your assistance due to rainy weather con ditions or other reasons, you will be told not to report into work the day prior, without pay. This position is not covered under the Public Works Collective Bargaining Unit.
