Seasonal Aquatics Maintenance Worker

Responsible for assisting the Aquatic maintenance team, performing repairs, handling chemicals, testing water chemistry, cleaning pools, and other pool operations tasks.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

DUTIES
  • Assist in monitoring, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and performing repairs and general maintenance on aquatic chemical systems, pumps, filters, and motors, play structures, circulation systems, concrete, tile and plaster, etc.
  • Paint, repair, and maintain equipment, furniture, facilities and pool interactive equipment.
  • Maintain a schedule of routine and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Perform public service functions during storms and inclement weather such as ice and high water
  • Perform manual labor and various tasks incidental to equipment operation, such as locating and repairing water lines, electrical lighting, and maintenance of existing aquatic park infrastructure.
  • Ensure that work orders are completed in a timely manner and maintain records and reports as required.
  • Clean work sites and perform routine inspections of assigned areas to detect any necessary repairs or hazardous conditions.
  • Assist the Lead Aquatic Facility Technician in emergencies or in relief capacity
  • Help train Pool Managers and seasonal maintenance staff with pool operations and chemical handling and safety.
  • Meet with external/internal customers regarding services issues or explanation of work performed as needed
  • Complete errands for chemicals and supplies as needed.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Must have and maintain a valid Class “C” Driver’s License and valid state required minimum automobile liability insurance prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class “C” driver’s license and state required minimum automobile liability insurance within 90 days of hire per state law).
  • Must pass a drug test, driver’s license check, criminal history background check, employment history verification, and social security number verification.
  • Must pass a physical examination.

  • Ensure equipment is in safe operating condition; perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, as appropriate and/or notify leadership immediately of needed repairs.

  • Promptly report unsafe conditions in the work area and/or any conditions that are not immediately correctable to leadership.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Safety Sensitive (Subject to random drug testing): Yes.
  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals; use of hand and power tools and assigned light equipment, standard electrical equipment, and use of motor vehicle; use of heavy-sized, motorized equipment, such as small mule/cart, sump pumps, and gas generators; wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
  • Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
  • Lifting: Lifting no more than 50 pounds and carrying up to 25 pounds.
  • Environment: Works outside with exposure to sun, heat, cold, humidity, and inclement weather, noise, dust, no/low light, insects, poison oak/ivy, debris, confined spaces, mold, chemicals, odors, heights, potentially hazardous conditions, steep slopes, uneven ground, and rough terrain; occasionally requires irregular and/or prolonged hours.
  • Travel: Travel to City of Denton buildings and professional meetings as required.
  • Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position. Must be able to work after normal business hours, holidays, and weekends, as needed. Must attend regularly scheduled and special meetings.
