Holy Trinity School, a Catholic elementary school in the Jesuit Tradition, is seeking a School Counselor, grades 5-8 to join our faculty in the 2026-27 school year.

Position Overview

We seek a mission-driven and collaborative educational leader who provides direct services in a comprehensive PreK–8 counseling program. This role is responsible for overseeing the developmental, social-emotional, and mental wellness needs of students in grades 5-8. Upper School Counselor will collaborate closely with Lower School Counselor, faculty, families, and external providers to support the holistic development of each child in alignment with Jesuit values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate 5–8 school counseling program in collaboration with with school administrators and Lower School counseling specialist
  • Partner with school leadership to align counseling services with the school’s mission and strategic priorities
  • Provide individual and small group counseling to students, with primary responsibility for grades 5–8
  • Support students in navigating social-emotional challenges, academic stress, and developmental transitions
  • Respond to student crises and provide appropriate intervention and follow-up

Wellness Curriculum Development & Delivery

  • Design and deliver a structured wellness curriculum for grades 5–8 aligned with developmental milestones
  • Facilitate classroom lessons on topics including:
  • Friendship and peer relationships
  • Bullying and relational aggression
  • Racism, bias, and inclusion
  • Body development and sexuality (age-appropriate, mission-aligned)
  • Mental health and emotional wellness
  • Additional relevant topics based on student needs
  • Collaborate with faculty to integrate social-emotional learning into classroom practices

Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as a key resource for faculty and parents on student social-emotional needs and classroom strategies
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns
  • Serve as liaison with outside therapists, psychologists, and other service providers when appropriate
  • Coordinate referrals and support continuity of care for students receiving outside services

Mission Integration

  • Uphold and model the values of Catholic and Jesuit education, including cura personalis (care for the whole person)
  • Support the spiritual, moral, and emotional development of students in a faith-centered environment
  • Collaborate with campus ministry and administration to promote student well-being and community belonging

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
  • Valid school counseling license (or eligibility to obtain licensure within 3 years)
  • Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver social-emotional learning curricula
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Commitment to working in a Catholic, Jesuit educational setting
  • Familiarity with culturally responsive counseling practices
