SAIC is looking for an Engineering Technician IV in Crane, IN to support the US Navy Small Arms Weapons Division, specific to the .50 caliber weapons.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for performing customer support activities involving assembly, disassembly, and repair of pistols, shotguns, rifles and machine guns in accordance with applicable instruction
Isolates equipment malfunctions and takes corrective action
May perform work using metal cleaning and plating operations as well as hand and power tools
Prepares daily logs and reports work performed
Works on assignments that are routine in nature where limited judgment is required. Interacts daily with supervisor, peer groups, and customers
Perform coating of small arms weapons, mounts and components that includes Powder Coating, Manganese Phosphate, Zinc Phosphate, hard Coat Anodizing and Black Oxide Coating
Perform support functions for small arms shop that include operating parts degreaser, bead blasting machines and preparing metal parts for refinishing
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 year of related experience
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust; not needed to start
Must be a U.S. citizen
Knowledge of Military and/or NSWC Crane operations
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required
Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds
Familiarity with military small arms operation, repair and maintenance
Ability to inspect, repair, and test small arms weapons; specific to the .50 caliber weapon
