Job description

Polymershapes, Massachusetts is adding to its warehouse staff! We are looking to hire a single blade beam saw operator.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Operation & Setup: Load plastic sheets (often with lifting equipment), set up saw blades, adjust feed speeds, and calibrate equipment for, precision cuts.
• Cutting & Production: Operate computer-controlled beam saws to cut, rip, or trim, plastic materials according to technical drawings or optimized cutting lists.
• Quality Control: Inspect raw material for defects and check finished pieces to ensure compliance with, dimensional requirements.
• Maintenance & Safety: Perform routine cleaning, blade changes, and troubleshooting, while strictly adhering to safety guidelines to prevent accidents and manage plastic dust.
• Documentation: Maintain records of materials used and production output.

*The Beam Saw Operator (Plastics) sets up and operates industrial, automated saws to precisely cut plastic sheets or panels according to blueprints and work orders. They manage the machine, optimize material usage, ensure accurate dimensions, and perform routine maintenance. Safety, precision, and ability to handle large materials are critical for this role.

Working Conditions

• The work is typically in a, manufacturing or production environment, often involving machinery, noise, and potential exposure to plastic dust, necessitating personal protective equipment like earplugs, safety glasses, and potentially masks.

Key Requirements & Skills

• Experience: Previous experience with beam saws, CNC machinery, or similar industrial equipment.
• Technical Skills: Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, or, CAD files.
• Physical Demands: Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift materials, often handling large, heavy, plastic panels.
• Mathematical Ability: Strong math skills for calculating measurements.
• Attention to Detail: High precision to minimize material wastage and meet tight tolerances.

Qualifications

Must have knowledge of working in a warehouse environment where safety is essential. Must have a level of fitness that matches the job tasks required. High School graduate or GED required. Must speak English fluently. Must have some computer related knowledge.
