SKILLS REQUIRED
Primary (Must-Have):
10–14 years of dedicated, hands-on enterprise experience in SAP Controlling (CO) and management accounting configurations
Proven expertise architectural blueprinting, implementing, and optimizing S/4HANA SAP CO, specifically leveraging Universal Journal structures and real-time reporting models
Advanced configuration capability across core SAP CO sub-modules: Cost Center Accounting (CO-OM-CCA), Profit Center Accounting (EC-PCA), Product Costing (CO-PC), and Profitability Analysis (CO-PA / Margin Analysis)
Expertise in engineering complex cost settlement processes, including defining settlement rules, distribution/allocation cycles, and assessment structures
Strong cross-functional integration experience linking SAP CO with adjacent modules including Financial Accounting (FI), Materials Management (MM), Sales & Distribution (SD), and Production Planning (PP)
Secondary (Good to Have):
Direct experience delivering SAP solutions within large-scale automotive manufacturing or heavy enterprise environments
Experience managing multi-tier validation tracks, including Unit Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for intricate financial flows
Familiarity with creating detailed functional specifications, precise technical data maps, and end-user training guides for distributed finance operations
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an Elite Senior SAP CO Functional Architect to drive the hands-on configuration, delivery, and system alignment of SAP Controlling solutions at an enterprise tier in Dearborn, MI. Operating 100% onsite, this consultant will translate complex management accounting rules into high-performance S/4HANA models, ensuring cost settlement matrices and margin analyses align flawlessly with corporate financial structures. The architect will bridge raw engineering logic and executive business intelligence, leading technical execution while securing cross-module data consistency across the supply chain.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the end-to-end design, implementation, and hands-on configuration of SAP CO components, prioritizing Cost Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Costing, and Profitability Analysis (CO-PA)
Leverage S/4HANA capabilities, including the Universal Journal and real-time margin analysis, to modernize financial close speeds and eliminate manual ledger reconciliations
Standardize and optimize enterprise cost settlement pipelines by programming precise allocation metrics, evaluation frameworks, and cross-company assessment structures
Partner with cross-functional technology and business teams to anchor the SAP CO layer securely alongside MM, SD, and PP financial streams, maintaining total data integrity across the value chain
Dissect complex production bugs, execute rigorous root-cause analysis, drive system testing (SIT/UAT), and implement permanent defect remediations to maintain high system reliability
Author structured functional specifications, process maps, and dashboard configurations that convert raw performance indicators into actionable insights for corporate stakeholders
