PrideStaff, a
leading national workforce solutions firm, has partnered with a premier supplier located in Dayton and is lookingfor someone experienced with everything from high-pressure grit blasting to the expert application of industrialprimers and paints. You’ll ensure that our products don't just look the part—they last for decades.
Key Responsibilities:- Abrasive Blasting: Operate high-pressure sandblasting and grit equipment to remove scale, rust, andimpurities, achieving a specific near-white metal finish (SSPC standards).
- Surface Profile Mastery: Inspect blasted surfaces to ensure the correct "anchor pattern" (texture) isachieved for the specific coating system being used.
- Industrial Spray Application: Set up and operate airless or HVLP spray systems to apply industrial primers, epoxies, and high-performance topcoats.
- Technical Mixing: Accurately mix multi-part coatings (activators/bases) according to strict manufacturerratios and "pot life" constraints.
- Precision Masking: Protect critical mating surfaces, flanges, and internal threads from blast media andoverspray using heavy-duty industrial tapes and plugs.
- Quality Verification: Use Wet Film Thickness (WFT) gauges during application to ensure the coating meetsengineering specifications before it cures.
- Equipment Care: Perform deep-cleaning and maintenance on blast pots, hoses, nozzles, and spray guns toensure zero downtime.
Why This Role is For You:- Industrial Scale: You aren't working on small parts; you’ll be prepping and coating massive industrialducting and high-capacity ventilation systems.
- Master of Textures: You’ll learn the science of "surface profile," mastering how to etch steel to the perfectanchor pattern for maximum coating adhesion.
- The Final Shield: You provide the critical barrier against corrosion, chemicals, and extreme heat.
What You’ll Need to Succeed- Technical Eye: Knowledge of various blast media (steel grit, glass bead, aluminum oxide) and their effectson different metal gauges.
- Safety Mindset: Total commitment to safety protocols, including the proper use of blast hoods, respirators, and environmental containment.
- Physical Strength: The stamina to handle high-pressure hoses and maneuver large-scale industrialcomponents in a fast-paced shop.
