Salesforce Technical Lead (Systems, Data & Automation)

Company Description

Ocean Block Capital is a privately held real estate investment firm based in New York City, focused on acquiring and developing net lease retail, industrial, and medical office properties across the United States.

With a portfolio spanning 36 states across single-tenant and anchored multi-tenant assets, Ocean Block Capital operates as a well-capitalized, high-velocity buyer. We streamline due diligence and execution by eliminating financing contingencies and leveraging an experienced network of attorneys and third-party vendors. We maintain long-standing relationships with brokers and sellers by consistently delivering certainty of close and creative solutions.

Role Description

  • We are hiring a Salesforce Technical Lead to architect and build the systems that power our acquisition platform.
  • This is not a traditional CRM role. You will design and implement a centralized deal sourcing, underwriting, and workflow automation engine within Salesforce—integrating fragmented data sources, managing external vendors, and deploying AI-driven tools to improve speed and decision-making.
  • You will work directly with leadership and have full ownership over how data and systems drive deal flow across the business.
  • This role is responsible for turning fragmented data and processes into a scalable acquisition platform.

Core Responsibilities

  • Own and architect the Salesforce data model supporting deal sourcing, pipeline management, and underwriting
  • Build and maintain custom applications using Apex, Lightning, and APIs
  • Develop automated workflows to ingest, clean, score, and route acquisition opportunities
  • Design and manage data pipelines across internal systems and third-party sources
  • Ensure data integrity, including normalization, deduplication, and reporting accuracy
  • Integrate external platforms (listing sites, broker feeds, APIs, internal datasets)
  • Implement and test AI tools and APIs to enhance sourcing, filtering, and analysis
  • Manage external vendors and partners (developers, data providers, integration platforms) to execute system initiatives
  • Own third-party relationships, including performance, cost management, and delivery timelines
  • Establish system architecture standards and development best practices
  • Partner with acquisitions and operations teams to translate business processes into scalable systems

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience (Apex, Lightning, APIs)
  • Strong background in data architecture, database design, and data management
  • Experience building and managing data pipelines and multi-source integrations
  • Experience managing or coordinating third-party vendors and technical partners
  • Demonstrated ability to build end-to-end systems, not just individual features
  • Deep experience with API integrations and external data ingestion
  • Exposure to AI/automation tools (OpenAI APIs, Zapier, custom scripts, etc.) preferred
  • Ability to operate independently with full ownership of systems
  • Strong communication skills with a practical, business-oriented mindset

Preferred

  • Salesforce certifications (Developer, Architect)
  • Experience in real estate, finance, or transaction-driven environments
