An international automotive component manufacturer in the Novi, MI area is looking for a Sales Engineer to join their Sales and Business Development department to handle existing account management and participate in new business development activities. The ideal candidate will have a stable and proven work history in automotive industry outside sales.



Responsibilities for Sales Engineer:

  • Clarify needs of the customer and relay those needs into product solutions
  • Maintain understanding of customers' product usage for accurate forecasting
  • Represent company with customers and other industry events
  • Relay customer needs to appropriate departments for next generation design directions, new products under development and pricing changes
  • Provide quotations for company's products to customers for pricing and tooling
  • Negotiate pricing and oversee technical requirements with customers
  • Assist in planning and forecasting as it relates to products and customers


Qualifications for Sales Engineer:


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering; or equivalent education and experience
  • Prefer at least 4 years of automotive technical sales or program management
  • Working knowledge of cost accounting/financial basics
  • Willingness to travel when necessary
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
