Safety Manager

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to oversee all health, safety, and environmental activities on a utility-scale solar construction project in Upstate New York. This individual will be responsible for driving a strong safety culture across the site, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and client requirements, while supporting safe and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all site safety initiatives for a utility-scale solar construction project.
• Conduct daily site inspections, audits, and safety observations to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, site-specific safety plans, and company safety standards.
• Facilitate daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, orientations, and ongoing safety training programs.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, implementing corrective and preventive actions as required.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, permits, and compliance records.
• Partner with project management, field supervision, subcontractors, and craft labor to promote a proactive safety culture.
• Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure adherence to project safety requirements.
• Support emergency response planning and preparedness activities.
• Track safety metrics and provide regular updates to project and corporate leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety experience, preferably within utility-scale solar, renewable energy, heavy civil, transmission, or industrial construction.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
• OSHA 30 certification required; OSHA 500, CHST, CSP, or equivalent certifications preferred.
• Experience managing safety programs on large-scale construction projects.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and training skills.
• Ability to work full-time on-site in Upstate New York.
