Safety Manager - Commercial Construction

One of our large general contractor and commercial construction clients is seeking a permanent Safety Manager to join their growing team in Clarkesville, VA. The Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing safety performance and development across assigned business units and projects. Serving as a key safety resource at the project, business unit, and corporate levels, this role evaluates safety needs, allocates resources, supports teams, and contributes to company’s corporate safety programs and culture. Other Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Safety Department staff, including performance management, training, career development, and recruiting
  • Manage safety needs across multiple projects and business units, including inspections, data analysis, trend identification, and performance improvement
  • Conduct and oversee site safety inspections, hazard evaluations, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance (OSHA and local requirements)
  • Monitor subcontractor safety performance and enforce safety standards across projects
  • Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, orientations, and “just-in-time” training
  • Support preconstruction safety planning, site-specific safety plans, and subcontractor onboarding
  • Lead crisis and incident responses and third-party or OSHA inspections
  • Analyze and report safety metrics, prepare monthly safety summaries, and recommend corrective actions
  • Serve as a technical safety resource and contribute to corporate safety initiatives and goals



Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of commercial construction safety management experience
  • Experience with electrical, concrete and iron work
  • Prior management experience
  • Prior data center construction experience is a plus


Salary: $100,000-$120,000 (dependent on level of experience)

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-5:00pm

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
