Safety Engineer

Job Summary

The Safety Engineer will support and enhance the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) program to ensure a safe, compliant, and accident-free workplace. This role is highly hands-on and works closely with operations to drive a strong safety culture across the facility.

Responsibilities

• Promote and support a zero-injury safety culture
• Conduct safety training, meetings, and new hire orientations
• Perform routine safety inspections and identify workplace hazards
• Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations
• Maintain safety documentation (training records, OSHA logs, incident reports)
• Support workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs
• Monitor and improve safety policies, procedures, and standards
• Collaborate cross-functionally with employees, vendors, and leadership
• Track safety metrics and maintain safety data sheets

Qualifications

• 4+ years of EHS or safety experience in a manufacturing environment
• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health, or related field (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and general safety compliance
• Familiarity with EPA standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency with basic computer systems
• First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
