Brayman Construction Corporation in Saxonburg, PA is looking for a detail oriented and organized Safety Document Control, Claims Management & Paralegal Specialist to support the organization's safety, legal, and risk management functions by maintaining controlled safety documentation, administering workers' compensation and liability claims, and providing paralegal-level support for legal, regulatory, and compliance matters. This position plays a critical role in ensuring regulatory compliance, accurate recordkeeping, litigation readiness, and effective coordination between safety, legal, HR, insurers, and outside counsel.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Documentation & Compliance

  • Collaborate with Safety Director to schedule and coordinate safety training for all companies
  • Maintain and control all safety-related documentation, including policies, procedures, training records, SDS, permits, audits, and inspection reports.
  • Ensure documents comply with OSHA, DOT, EPA, state, and company-specific regulatory requirements.
  • Manage document version control, approvals, retention schedules, and secure archiving.
  • Support regulatory inspections, audits, and internal/external compliance reviews.
  • Track corrective actions, training completions, and record retention deadlines.
  • Coordinate distribution of updated safety documents company-wide.
  • Work with HR & Safety to obtain all training from all employees and upload in appropriate database systems.

Claims Management

  • Administer workers' compensation, general liability, auto liability, and property claims.
  • Serve as primary liaison between employees, management, insurance carriers, third-party administrators (TPAs), medical providers, and legal counsel.
  • Ensure timely claim reporting`, documentation, and regulatory filings.
  • Monitor claim status, reserves, return-to-work programs, and settlement progress.
  • Maintain confidential claim files and accurate tracking records.
  • Assist with accident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action documentation.
  • Support litigation preparation by organizing claim evidence, witness statements, and records.

Legal / Paralegal Support

  • Provide paralegal-level assistance for legal, regulatory, and compliance matters.
  • Draft, review, and organize legal documents, correspondence, discovery responses, and subpoenas.
  • Manage litigation holds, document production, and evidence preservation.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel, internal stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain legal files, case management systems, calendars, and deadlines.
  • Conduct basic legal research related to employment law, safety regulations, and compliance.
  • Assist with contract review support, policy development, and risk assessments.

Recordkeeping & Data Management

  • Maintain accurate training records, attendance logs, certifications, and competency assessments.
  • Use Learning Management Systems (LMS) or databases to monitor completion and effectiveness.
  • Generate reports on training status, compliance rates, and trends

  • High attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, document management systems, and claims/legal tracking software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Safety Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate strongly preferred.
  • 3-7 years of experience in safety administration, claims management, legal support, or compliance roles.
  • Experience in regulated environments (manufacturing, construction, transportation, energy, healthcare) highly desirable.

Safety Sensitive Position

This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work in a heavy manufacturing facility with various safety hazards which are potentially life-threatening to the employee and Team Members without proper safety precautions. This position may require working at heights, in confined spaces, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis. Team Members will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies due to these safety risks.
