TreeServe, LLC
Jacksonville, FL

Safety & Compliance Manager

TreeServe is a growing, professional tree care platform supporting operating companies across the Southeast and beyond. Safety is core to how we operate — not a checkbox, not a poster on the wall. We’re looking for a hands-on Safety & Compliance Manager who can lead from the field, partner with operations, and help us build a best-in-class safety culture as we scale.

The Role

The Safety & Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing TreeServe’s safety and compliance programs to ensure adherence to federal, state, and industry standards, including OSHA regulations and ANSI Z133 Safety Requirements for Arboricultural Operations.

This role blends field presence with program leadership. You’ll spend time on active job sites supporting crews and leaders, while also owning safety strategy, training, audits, and regulatory compliance across multiple operating companies. If you’re someone who can earn credibility with crews and communicate effectively with executives, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead company-wide safety programs aligned with OSHA, ANSI Z133, and industry best practices
  • Conduct regular job site inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions
  • Design and deliver safety training for field and office employees, including:
  • Chainsaw and hand tool safety
  • Climbing and rigging techniques
  • Aerial lift and equipment operation
  • Electrical hazard awareness and utility line clearance
  • PPE usage
  • Emergency response, First Aid, CPR, and AED
  • Maintain accurate safety records, training documentation, and compliance reports
  • Partner with operations leaders, supervisors, and crew leaders to embed safety into daily workflows
  • Monitor regulatory and industry updates and recommend program enhancements
  • Serve as the primary contact for OSHA inspections and regulatory inquiries
  • Support safety committees, incentive programs, and safety communications
  • Recommend improvements to equipment, PPE, vehicles, and work practices

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Arboriculture, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of safety or compliance experience in tree care, arboriculture, construction, utilities, landscaping, or another high-risk industry
  • Proven experience supporting field-based operations

Certifications (Strongly Preferred)

  • CSP, CUSP, or similar
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction or General Industry (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • ISA Certified Arborist or TRAQ a plus
  • First Aid / CPR / AED certification preferred

Skills & Attributes

  • Deep knowledge of OSHA regulations and ANSI Z133 standards
  • Strong incident investigation and risk assessment skills
  • Excellent communicator and trainer — comfortable with crews and leadership
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-location environment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Travel up to 75% to Operating Company locations and job sites

Work Environment

  • Based at TreeServe’s Jacksonville, FL headquarters
  • Combination of office work and frequent field visits
  • Outdoor, all-weather job site exposure with appropriate PPE
  • Occasional irregular hours or on-call availability for incident response
