Job Title: Experienced Roofing Laborer – Lab Facility Project

Job Description

This role offers an opportunity for an experienced roofing laborer to support a high-priority lab facility project focused on single-ply and metal roofing systems. You will work closely with the site superintendent and project team to complete installation and rerouting tasks safely and efficiently, helping ensure project continuity through the coming months.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with roofing tasks under the supervision and direction of the site superintendent.
  • Perform installation, repair, and support work on single-ply roofing systems.
  • Perform installation, repair, and support work on metal roofing systems.
  • Support rerouting and installation activities within a lab facility environment as required.
  • Follow all safety regulations, site protocols, and strict safety procedures at all times.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly to complete assigned tasks.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with the superintendent and other team members to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Maintain accurate job number records and related documentation for invoicing and project tracking.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards throughout the workday.
  • Arrive on time, ready to work, and reliably complete assigned daily tasks.

Essential Skills

  • 4–5 years of roofing experience in a construction environment.
  • Proficiency with single-ply roofing systems, including installation and repair tasks.
  • Proficiency with metal roofing systems, including installation and repair tasks.
  • Ability to follow strict safety protocols and adhere to all site safety requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a superintendent and follow instructions accurately.
  • Punctuality, reliability, and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in lab facility environments or other specialized facilities.
  • Familiarity with rerouting tasks in specialized or controlled environments.
  • General labor and construction experience in commercial or industrial settings.
  • Experience working with or for a general contractor on construction projects.
  • Strong attention to detail when documenting job numbers and project information.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse site teams and adapt to changing project needs.

Work Environment

This position is based on an active construction job site within a lab facility project. You will work primarily outdoors and on roofs, often at heights, and must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions. The environment is fast-paced and safety-focused, with strict site protocols that must be followed at all times. You will regularly use hand tools and power tools and work closely with the superintendent and other construction professionals. Standard construction attire, including appropriate work boots and personal protective equipment, is required in accordance with site safety rules.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
