As a Roadway Programs Technician 1 with the Allegheny County Department of Transportation, you will help keep the county’s highway and bridge systems operating efficiently. As a Roadway Programs Technician 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Data Review:Collect and analyze information from maintenance systems to support accurate reporting and program oversight
- Inventory Management:Monitor materials, update inventory records, and assist in managing bulk material processes
- Work Plan Support:Review and adjust work plans to ensure proper balance of labor, equipment, and materials
- Financial Tracking:Reconcile documents, monitor balances, and process invoices to maintain accurate financial records
- Program Assistance:Support budget reviews, reporting needs, and development of maintenance programs and presentations
- System Coordination:Use system tools to create maps, spreadsheets, and reports that assist in tracking county maintenance activities

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. - Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Technical Assistant(Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent; or
- An Associate's Degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program;or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
