Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the principles of insurance & risk management; of methods of compiling, organizing, & analyzing data. Ability to conduct fact-finding interviews; to investigate insurance claims; to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures; to collect, analyze and interpret data; to make and defend decisions about insurance claims; to plan, organize & coordinate work activities; to communicate effectively verbally & in writing; and to establish & maintain an effective working relationship with others.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.
This position is required to work from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Must be able to travel the South Florida region by flying or driving a car.
This position will be filled at $48,945.48 - $51,000.00 based on experience.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Conducts investigations of State liability claims which are filed against the State and its employees. When necessary, assigns specific claims to contract adjusters for field investigation. Negotiates and settles claims filed against the state and or employees. Works with assigned counsel to resolve and defends claims brought against the state and employees
