Revenue Cycle Optimization Analyst

As a Revenue Cycle Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting projects and ongoing processes aimed at monitoring, evaluating, and enhancing various functional aspects of revenue cycle operations. These encompass, but are not limited to, procedures within Patient Access, such as scheduling, financial clearance, point of service (POS) collections, registration, and other intake and discharge processes. Additionally, you will work with Health Information Management (HIM) procedures, including document and record management, clinical documentation, coding, and charge capture, as well as Patient Financial Services (PFS) procedures, which involve billing, accounts receivable, remittance, and the management of bad debt.

Your primary responsibilities will involve conducting basic research-oriented activities, including reviewing samples and collecting data. You will also be responsible for basic measurement tasks, such as data aggregation and summarization and general statistical analysis. Furthermore, meticulous documentation practices will be an integral part of your role.

Job Duties:

  • Uses various hospital IT systems to pull data and research accounts.

  • Collects qualitative data through external research and internal interviews and observations.

  • Designs and performs primary quantitative analyses.

  • Prepares and maintains reports.

  • Documents and distributes decisions and next steps from meetings.

  • Communicates findings and implications of research.

  • Assists in the implementation of process changes.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Three (3) + years of previous position experience

  • Five (5) + years of working SQL experience

  • Five (5) + years of creating dashboards/ Tableau or Power BI

  • Basic Microsoft Excel skills

  • Professional communication skills – verbal and written

  • Knowledge of Revenue Cycle processes and concepts

  • Basic proficiency with hospital registration and billing system

  • Knowledge of EPIC EMR system
