Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Restorative Aide, you will play a crucial role in promoting each resident's ability to live as independently and safely as possible.

Every day, you will actively work to enhance each resident's highest practicable level of physical, mental, and psychosocial functioning, directly impacting their quality of life. You will implement restorative care plans, assisting residents with exercises, activities, and routines designed to maintain or improve their functional abilities. Your compassionate support will encourage residents to engage in self-care, mobility, and social interactions, fostering their independence and overall well-being.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a compassionate and patient demeanor, ideally with experience in restorative care or direct resident support in a long-term care or rehabilitative setting. You will demonstrate strong interpersonal and observational skills, capable of identifying and responding to residents' individual needs and progress. A commitment to person-centered care, adherence to care plans, and the ability to motivate and encourage residents will be essential in helping them achieve their maximum potential for independence and safety.

  • Supports the Therapists: Assists physical therapists in utilizing the process in delivery of restorative patient care. Reports and consults with all pertinent observations to: charge nurse, Clinical Coordinator, physical therapist, occupational therapist, or speech therapist.
  • Assists in the Assessment/Planning of patient care: Participates in planning for patient care. Assists in evaluating patients for patient-care plan, MDS, and restorative feeding program.
  • Timeliness: Responsible for timely completion of weekly summaries and notifying appropriate disciplines of any changes in condition.
  • Assists with training: Assists in providing instruction and in-services to new employees and updates current employees on proper safety techniques, i.e., transfers, equipment postural supports, restraints.
  • Compliance with Policy and Procedures: Complies with safety, infection control, CHW Integrity Program, and other organizational policies. (90 day evals - department specific orientation checklists completed; annual evals - annual competency checklists completed) Complies with the organization's dress code. Arrives at work on time, as defined by the Timeliness and Attendance Policy. Attends work consistently, as defined by the Timeliness and Attendance Policy.
  • Other Staff Responsibilities: Actively supports the organizations mission, philosophy and strategic plan. Demonstrates good time management and priority setting.
Job Requirements

Required:

  • At least one (1) year experience as a CNA and
  • Certified Nursing Assistant: CA, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
  • Completion of Restorative Aide Course, upon hire
    • to properly lift and transfer patients
    • to document levels of functioning

Preferred:

  • Long-term care experience
