Respiratory Therapy Educator

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is seeking an experienced and passionate Allied Health School (AHS) Educator to join our team. This role is essential in shaping the next generation of allied health professionals by developing and implementing high-quality educational programs that prepare students for successful, impactful careers in the healthcare field. The AHS Educator will create and deliver curriculum that addresses diverse learning styles and aligns with both student demographics and current industry standards, ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements and fostering academic excellence in a dynamic healthcare landscape.


In this position, the AHS Educator will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing innovative, standards-aligned curricula for allied health programs.
  • Adjusting and revising curriculum as needed to maintain alignment with accreditation standards.
  • Delivering engaging educational material and ensuring a thorough understanding of essential concepts among students.
  • Managing administrative elements of the education system, including grading, policy review, and establishing testing standards.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy, Education, or a related field.
  • Six years of experience as a licensed Respiratory Therapist, registered by the NBRC.
  • Five years of independent experience in adult care subspecialties, including full familiarity with CSMC Respiratory Care Service.
  • At least one year of experience and knowledge of adult learning theories, educational technology, and methodology.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing educational programs, with a strong foundation in clinical practice and evidence-based methods supporting bedside staff.


Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current PALS certification (for Emergency Department work).
  • Current ACLS certification, maintained continuously.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program.
  • RRT certification, kept current and valid.
  • Certification as an Allied Health Instructor (AHI) by the American Medical Technologist.
