Residential Program PRN (on call) Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Location: Westminster & Taneytown, MD
Pay rate: $19.68/hour + $2.00 Weekend Differential
Schedule: Flexible PRN / On-Call Scheduling

The Arc Carroll County is seeking compassionate and dependable PRN (on-call) Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in our Community Living residential homes.

As a Residential DSP, you’ll work as part of a supportive team helping individuals with daily routines, personal goals, and community involvement.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with daily living skills and personal care
• Supporting meal preparation, laundry, and light housekeeping
• Administering medications (paid training provided)
• Providing transportation to appointments and community activities
• Completing documentation accurately and timely
• Promoting independence, dignity, and inclusion
• Ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of residents

Our residential program operates 24/7, and PRN staff help cover:

• Call-outs
• Vacations
• Open shifts
• Emergency staffing needs

PRN Requirement:
To maintain active PRN status, employees must work a minimum of 4 shifts during each 6-week scheduling period.

• $19.68/hour starting rate

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience
• Clean driving record, criminal background, and drug screen required
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills
• Ability to complete required trainings including CPR, First Aid, and Med Tech Certification
• Minimum of 1 year experience supporting individuals with disabilities preferred

This position requires the ability to:

• Assist with a variety of personal care needs
• Lift and assist individuals with mobility needs
• Frequently stand, bend, push, pull, and reposition individuals
• Safely assist with transfers and wheelchair securement
• Use lifts and mobility equipment including Hoyer lifts
