JOB SUMMARY
Works under minimal supervision to provide responsible technical assistance in performance of assignments requiring basic knowledge of techniques and practices related to particular field of science.
The Lin Lab studies the transformation of brief experiences into enduring memories, their impact on behaviors, and the differing responses seen in both healthy and diseased conditions. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, our research explores how experience-induced genetic programs establish connections between experiences and synaptic modifications within neural circuits, ultimately driving persistent behavioral changes. This technician would provide research support for projects supporting these aims. Oversee general laboratory matters, including the management of lab supplies and equipment, Maintain and manage transgenic mouse colonies, Keep track of lab adeno-associated virus (AAV) inventory, maintain lab plasmid inventory, prepare and manage common stocks of lab reagents.
Highly desirable qualifications include experience in molecular biology and cloning, as well as proficiency in cell culture techniques. Experience in animal colony management, electrophysiology, stereotaxic surgery, and computer programming is advantageous.
