JOB SUMMARY
Plans, coordinates, directs, and participates in work of smaller research project or major unit of large research project in field of specialization for which incumbent is particularly qualified in terms of extensive training and/or experience.
This position will support research efforts directed toward developing treatments for genetic pediatric disorders with significant unmet medical needs. The individual will conduct independent research and also contributing to multiple ongoing projects. Responsibilities include maintaining and managing transgenic mouse colonies, performing routine colony management tasks such as genotyping, and supporting experimental studies involving mouse models. Additional duties include performing molecular biology and cell-based assays, plasmid cloning and preparation, and producing adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors. The candidate may also support experimental procedures related to in vivo studies. Prior experience with rodent handling and injections is strongly preferred. Experience with molecular biology techniques is highly desirable. Familiarity with gene therapy research, viral vector production, or mammalian cell culture will be considered a strong asset.
