The Elovitz Lab at Icahn School of Medicine focuses on reproductive and maternal-fetal biology. The lab is supported by multiple NIH grants which explore microbial and immune drivers of health and disease in these specific areas.
Research positions are available for the focus on characterizing host-microbial interactions and innate immunity at the lower reproductive tract, upper reproductive tract and at the fetal-maternal interface. This position will involve working with and having proficiency with various animal (mice models), in vitro models (cell lines and primary cell lines) and bacterial pathogens and their by-products.
The Research Scientist II candidate will be expected to organize and plan all aspects of experimentation and collaborate with core facilities to complete downstream assays such as flow cytometry, siRNA, and scRNA sequencing and analysis under minimal supervsion. Other downstream applications such as microscopy, cytokine analysis, qRT-PCR, Western blot, and immunofluorescence can be done within our laboratory. The candidate will collect, interpret, assess, and communicate data and results to team leaders and present data at lab meetings.
Experience in the field of molecular biology, immunology and/or microbiology, or related field or equivalent doctoral degree and 5 years of experience is required

Compensation
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $87,692.00 - $131,538.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
