Responsibilities
Independently performs laboratory experiments and procedures following established protocols, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve routine technical issues.
Prepares, validates, and maintains laboratory reagents, solutions, culture media, and specimens in accordance with protocol and safety requirements.
Collects, interprets, analyzes, and documents experimental data with a high degree of accuracy and consistency. Ensures completeness and integrity of laboratory records and notebooks.
Maintains, calibrates, and performs routine troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and equipment; coordinates repairs and maintenance as needed.
Ensures compliance with laboratory safety standards, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
Oversees laboratory inventory management, including forecasting supply needs, ordering materials, and ensuring proper storage and labeling.
Provides guidance and informal training to entry-level laboratory staff, students, or trainees on standard laboratory procedures and best practices.
Collaborates effectively with research scientists, investigators, and cross-functional teams to support ongoing research projects and timelines.
Assist with in vivo studies, including animal handling and experimental procedures in accordance with approved protocols.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field (Required)
2+ years of experience with specific laboratory techniques relevant to the research area (Required)
