UTHealth Houston Neurology Department is hiring for a Research Assistant II to join their team of professionals. The RA II will be responsible for the following:
Support Human Autopsy and Brain Cutting Conference:
· Assist with the collection of human postmortem tissue.
· Organize and maintain paperwork following autopsies and brain cutting conferences.
Assist with Daily Tasks in the Histology Core:
· Prepare slides for histological experiments, including internal and external requests, with proficiency in operating various microtomes and vibratomes.
· Perform a range of staining techniques, such as routine staining, immunohistochemistry, and in situ hybridization.
· Assist with slide scanning and imaging.
Ensure Quality Control and Safety:
· Conduct quality control checks to maintain high standards of work.
· Ensure compliance with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulations, and codes to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
