Responsibilities

• Represent clients across all phases of family law matters, including divorce, custody, support, and equitable distribution.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, agreements, and other case documents.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
• Prepare and present cases in court, including hearings, motions, and trials.
• Communicate proactively with clients, keeping them informed and involved throughout their case.
• Coordinate with support staff to maintain organized case files and meet all deadlines.

Qualifications

• MUST BE AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE VIRGINIA STATE BAR IN GOOD STANDING TO BE CONSIDERED.
• Minimum 3 years of Virginia family law experience, with a strong litigation focus.
• Experience handling a range of family law matters, including divorce, custody, visitation, support, enforcement, and modifications to existing orders.
• Demonstrated experience arguing motions and taking cases through trial.
• Strong legal research, drafting, and written communication skills.
• Effective negotiation skills and sound judgment in settlement strategy.
• Clear, confident verbal communication with clients and opposing counsel.
• Thrives in a remote environment, with strong self-organization and the discipline to work independently.

Compensation

$140,000 - $205,000 yearly
