Job Overview:
As an Ultrasonographer at the Bethesda North Thomas Breast Center, working under the general direction of the physician and the supervision of the manager or supervisor, this position is responsible for performing high‑quality breast ultrasound examinations in accordance with ACR and AIUM guidelines and established protocols. The Ultrasonographer must demonstrate competency in breast ultrasound imaging, ultrasound‑guided procedures, and related diagnostic techniques, with a GXMO preferred for performing DEXA scans if applicable. Responsibilities include performing accurate and timely ultrasound exams, maintaining thorough and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record, participating in quality assurance and quality control activities, ensuring proper operation and care of ultrasound equipment through adherence to standard procedures and troubleshooting/reporting malfunctions, working effectively with patients and families to provide compassionate care, maintaining cooperative relationships with interdepartmental team members, complying with infection prevention and safety standards, assisting with student education and orientation of new employees, supporting clerical functions related to record maintenance as needed, engaging in ongoing professional education, traveling to additional locations if required, and performing other duties as assigned. RDMS certification in the appropriate specialty is required, along with meeting continuing education requirements established by the registry and applicable accrediting organizations.

$20K Sign on Bonus - 2 year agreement
Job Requirements:
Associate's Degree in Allied Health (Required)
1-2 years Breast Ultrasongoraphy experience (Preferred)
Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program (Required)
Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
Other ARDMS or ARRT(Breast Certified) (Required)
Other GXMO (only needed if ARDMS) (Preferred)
Job Responsibilities:
Demonstrates ability to consistently produce and evaluate diagnostic sonograms for radiologic interpretation
Demonstrates competency through ongoing CBE's. Demonstrates knowledge of equipment and its operating procedures through CBE's. Selects proper imaging protocols and follows departmental procedures
Demonstrates organizational and communication skills to promote the well-being of the department Maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental team members
Maintains accurate records through the completion of all paperwork. Work is completed before submitting
Provides for patient, family, and staff comfort and care prior to, during, and after a procedure. Recognizes and responds appropriately to emergent situations
