Performs all diagnostic and interventional exams according to established policy and procedure for interpretation and subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician.
Essential Functions:
Performs all diagnostic and interventional exams and procedures including, but not limited to, angiography,
vertebroplasty, line placement, biopsies, and interventional.
Assists physicians in procedures ensuring that sterile technique is adhered to. Follows time out procedure.
Obtains history, explains exam, and addresses patient concerns. Administers contrast according to policy.
Operates imaging equipment in the prescribed manner by setting proper technique, collimation and protocol.
Reviews and evaluates completed tests for quality, completeness, and type of test ordered; ensures quality
images. Completes paperwork timely. Uses PACS to send images for interpretation and storage. Able to
print images or burn CD on request.
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement, safety,
environmental and infection control standards. Enhances professional growth and development through
participation in educational programs, current literature and in-services. Maintains continuing education
credits to meet licensure requirements.
Transports patients to procedure room; prepares and maintains room. Provides service in a timely manner.
Contacts service if indicated. Orders and stocks supplies.
Follows rules and regulations pertaining to ODH QA program 3701:1-66, ODH radiation protection standards
3701:1-38, ODH licensing requirements 3701-72.
Required Minimum Education: 2 year/ Associates Degree in Radiology
Required Licensure/ Certifications: ARRT Registered, Ohio Licensed Radiographer, BLS
Minimum Years and Type of Experience: Previous 6 months experience as a radiologic technologist preferred
