Position Summary:The Regional Special Education Facilitator (Northern Front Range) is responsible for working with Administrative Units at the building level to improve outcomes for students with disabilities through the impartial facilitation of IEP meetings and other related Special Education meetings at the request of the school or the family. Facilitations are assigned regionally. This regional facilitator will cover facilitation requests in Colorado's Northern Front Range region and should reside within the area. The Special Education Facilitator will serve as a member of the Dispute Prevention and Assisted Resolution (DPAR) Workgroup and support facilitation trainings and presentations in their region as appropriate.
The final salary is anticipated to fall within the posted salary range, however, could be higher or lower depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities, and other qualifications of the preferred candidate while considering internal equity.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:- Participate in regularly scheduled Dispute Prevention and Assisted Resolution Workgroup meetings.
- Complete training in established protocol for Special Education facilitation.
- Plan, conduct, and facilitate IEP/Special Education meetings including, but not limited to:
- Gathering input from meeting participants
- Creating meeting agenda
- Guiding discussion/charting during the meeting
- Maintaining impartiality and confidentiality
- Maintaining open communication
- Keeping members on task and student-focused
- Assisting in conflict resolution
- Participate in ongoing education/training in order to train others as facilitators.
- Participate in the evaluation process for facilitated meetings.
- Maintains communication with AU regarding additional needs for Special Education facilitation.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited college or university in special education, social work, dispute resolution, or a related field.
- Five (5) to Seven (7) yearsof experience working in special education as a professional developer, trainer, teacher, special education director, or other relevant personnel.

Preferred Qualifications (Preferred/Not Required):- Completion of three-day Special Education Facilitator training.
- Prior experience facilitating IEP and related special education meetings.
