Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA)'s renowned Orthopedics team provides expert care to our patients' bones, muscles, and joints. Our services range from injury evaluation to complex surgery, depending on patients' specific health needs. We believe that our team provides care that meets or exceeds that found in most other Boston-area hospitals. And, as part of a regional healthcare system, we see patients at three convenient Boston-area locations: CHA Medford Orthopedics, Cambridge Hospital, and the CHA Everett Hospital.


Under the direction of the Director of Orthopedic & Ambulatory Rehabilitation with a dotted line to the Ambulatory Associate Chief Nursing Officer, the Regional Nurse Manager provides strategic leadership and direct supervision to nursing staff in multiple locations at CHA. They provide clinical operations, service planning, business performance, and performance improvement to the Department. In addition, they lead nursing teams utilizing a collaborative approach to drive best practices in an environment focused on a wide range of activities designed to deliver high-quality clinical outcomes for CHA patients and communities.


Key Responsibilities


  • Oversees nursing practice, procedures, and policy standards to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborates with Practice Managers and Medical Directors to identify opportunities for improvement and implement improved systems for the nursing team.
  • Responsible for day-to-day leadership of nursing staff at multiple sites, including accountability for employee competencies, evaluations, and annual reviews.
  • Monitors, maintains, and audits regulatory compliance standards.
  • Designs develops, and implements innovative care initiatives utilizing evidence-based practice and data that focus on clinical excellence.
  • Develops, implements, and reviews nursing procedures, policies, and nursing standing orders.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills in principles of team building, motivation of others, conflict management/resolution and negotiation.
  • Performs rounds to observe staff activity and provide support and direction.
  • Collaborates with the ambulatory education department in the development, assessment, and delivery of staff educational needs, training development, and clinical skills.
  • Actively participates in service line meetings at all levels.
  • Actively manages safety events including filing, investigating, and developing solutions.
  • Develops nursing budget, monitors nurse visits volume, and identifies billing opportunities for nurse services to enhance revenue.
  • Motivates staff, ability to effectively and positively influence and persuade staff to achieve organization/department goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrates a collaborative approach to problem solving, and promotes the understanding of the practice mission and goals.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of labor relations and union regulations, working collaboratively with Human Resources and union leadership with its members.
  • Works effectively with and provides feedback to staff to maximize development. Counsels staff and uses progressive disciplinary actions when necessary.


Qualifications/Requirements


Education:

  • Graduate of NLN Accredited School of Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing required, Master’s Degree preferred


License/Certification:

  • Current or conditional Massachusetts RN license
  • Maintains current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support


Experience:

  • Five years’ clinical experience in Ambulatory Department Required
  • Demonstrated leadership and management abilities




Pay Range: $65.67 - $99.07 per hour
